***Help Put A Track In The Bay Area!***
#46
It's a shame we can't rebuild Fremont Raceway. I know a few years back the land was still there...it was just a land fill and owned by the Rail Road company. But I guess they have built housing all the way up to the fence so that will never happen because the city will never kick those people out. Thats the problem with all these cities...they wanna expand to the point where they can't build anything else. We have so much housing here it's unreal.

My friends and I don't have time to come out on weekends to sign the petition...but we would like to sign. We work all day on the weekends...and I'm sure there are other people that are in the same boat. You should try and organize a weeknight meet for anyone who can't come on weekends.

It's kinda like the problem with all those skateboarder and bladers...they didn't have anywhere to go. The police were confiscating their stuff and giving them tickets. The cities finally recognized there was a problem and built skate parks. Of course with racing we're dealing with people that are more financially responsible and are over the age of 18...so we don't have that problem where it becomes our parents problem...at least for most of us. Guaranteed if they built a track locally...there would be a significant drop in street racing. It won't disapear if thats what they want...but it will greatly decrease.

On another note...my mom is an up and coming politician, and has many friends in high political positions, including Mike Honda, Mayor Ron Gonzales, and many more. I'll talk to my mom and see what I can do as far as getting some time where a group of organized people can sit down and have an active discussion outside of city counsel.

Good deal man.

Update is: We've talk to the NHRA yesterday over a radio show and they for sure have our backs on this, and that their dedicated in doing things like building tracks to help getting kids off the street, and the fact the really want a track in the bay area . so we will be having further discussions with them. Another radio show will be broadcasted in dedication to this cause soon.

also have a a guy willing to purchase land for a track if needed more sponsors and investors would also help, depending on if this is something we going to have to do with out the help of a big corporation then we will need as much money as possible to make this happen

if anyone has any questions. you can send emails to
mailto:pontiacgrl327@yahoo.com
DVS2all: if you want to give your mom this Email address if she has any questions

a big banner will be made also for any businesses in support with their logos on it. you can also send your logo images to that email
Thanks

you know what i put the wrong date march instead of april but i hope people were able to figure that out from it saying 4/16/05 - march 16th 2005

but anyhow NO one showed from anywhere that last couple of times we've done this. We got a cops SIG and a Meeting at the SJPD to get all their SIGs and to talk about what they can do to help... This is something SJPD has come to us to offer... But for now no one seems to want a track bad enough, b/c know one is showing to sign the petition, these petitions are a small important part to if this can happen on top of everthing else that you have to go through to get approval and so for so good. just need those sigs

so.. how did this go?

Where exactly do you plan on putting it? There isn't any space in the actual bay area, and there is no real point to make it an hour away. Why not a drag strip?

Dam good luck man, keep up the good work

I would fucken love a track to be local near by, only sac and infin are near by but it's a 1 hour and 30 min drive for me, going the limit Smile

#63
Yeah overall their about a 2hr trip and sac is confirmed closing and they personally dont want use there. As far as location, that info can not be released yet, but we do have a few locations and buyers/investors to accommodated expenses

I had an interesting conversation yesterday when I was goin to my bowling class. To keep it short...the women I talked to were complaining about the over development of the bay area and how there is nowhere for their kids to ride bikes and what not, so I brought up how we want a track, and they were in full agreement. They said there probobly is a lot of other middle aged people that feel the same way, you just have to present it to them in a way that it seems important to them. Another key point brought up was how the cities don't wanna build a track, yet San Jose is goin to have the Grand Prix in downtown introducing a racing enviorment to it's people.

I'd also agree Dean, I'll have a talk with Melissa, she abit up set b/c people haven't been showing to signings. so what would mak this any different type thing. so will talk about it and see what happens.

Could you elaborate on that statement? I've spoken to much of our administration, and they are unaware so far of anybody making any kind of official endorsement of this project. Perhaps somebody did, but any official endorsement should come from the Chief of Police. PM me if you wish on your response.

The only thing the administration knows is that their will be a Police escorted support drive w/ a permit.

It was gonna be a meeting Held at the police station with 1 Shift and 1 Beat. So that might be why you haven't heard anything, the police working the capital exp. area. I can PM you the officers name If you would like to follow up on it or have involvment of some kind. it was basicly getting all the officers to sign the petition to help get these people and future youngins off the streets, also talk about trying to get the police of cheif also involved. we need all the help we can get.

you can send all email replys here pontiacgrl327@yahoo.com
or PM me if you like

Thanks ~SoL~
