Thieves, they should all be ground up and used as fertilizer. F****n garbage. At least your story ended happily.
A couple of suggestions on the alarm install: Donât wire the alarm straight to the siren. Use relays to get power from a batter, it make more options available for security. Battery backup everything. Very important, reroute your hood pop cable in to engine bay, or get rid of it altogether and use a solenoid connected to your aux on the alarm. Similar to trunk pop but for your hood, this is much less obtrusive than hood locks. You can run leads to the trunk or where ever so that if your batter dies you can hook up jumper cables to the leads and power up your alarm and solenoids so you can pop the hood. If you wire this up right you can put the leads anywhere even out side the car because you will still need the remote to open anything. Dump the valet, no need to have one, but if you must, hide it. The reason I would use relays for the sirens is to layer the system. Things thieves go for first should be booby trapped. Hood latch, as previously mentioned, should be disabled, only for show. Hook up a trigger switch to it. Now off of your siren relays you can hook up timed relays, the kind that only need a single pulse to close the circuit for some amount of time. The hood latch can be used to trigger the timed relay, hook all this up to really loud air horns or whatever. Just a simple break down but this is how it should work, your normal everyday alarm sirens will be like everyone elseâs. However, when the air horns go off you know someone is in the car trying to steal it. It will also keep your neighbors from hating you. They will not be able to get under the hood to turn anything off.
Killswitch killsitch killswitch, put one on the fuel pump.
I feel comfortable posting this, knowing that at some point a POS car thief will read this but it doesnât matter. If you do it right there is nothing they can do about it except tow it.
With electronics nearly anything is possible; you can take apart a stun guns and rewire the electrodes to booby trap allot of different things. Things like this can easily be integrated into the above mentioned alarm install. Think taster, stun guns, etcâ¦.
I have also read about some people making deadbolts for their doors. Keep in mind, all this stuff is just a deterrent. There is no guarantee that some POS wonât take it.
Thieves should have to fear for their lives as much as we have to fear about getting are cars jacked.
Just my 2 cents. Hope it gives you some ideasâ¦
