Oaklands Aftermath
#1
Well i recieved a call from some of my buddys that went out last night to oakland agianst my advisement, and of course i recieve a call at about 2am saying that my buddy and his ek were pulled over on "suspicion of participating in a speed contest" (is that even a real charge?) and apparently the officer went on and on about how there was a shooting last weekend :lame: and other stuff. Im staying away from Oakland's "scene" for the weekend, hopefully this all blows over soon. :thumbup good luck to anyone who ventures out this weekend where ever they meet.

"suspicion of participating in a speed contest"

thats a real charge, but nothing major. if he was cited for it, more likely your buddy will win the case. OPD are crackin down harder ever since the shootings of the two bros.

good to hear the sideshow monkeys are not there. kinda suspicous why as well..

let it cool down ppls so we can have summerfun
too many e-racers here

PR's are the only thing i would consider remotely safe in the east bay now. it's rediculous what has been happening lately. things getting way to out of hand. too bad it's already 11:30 i would've liked to set something up for tonight haha.

from cc times:

"Man killed driving from street race

An 18-year-old San Pablo driver died early Saturday morning while fleeing the scene of an illegal street race, Oakland police said.

Driver Martin Salgado and a 17-year-old passenger from Richmond left an illegal street race at Middle Harbor Road when the CHP arrived, said Oakland Capt. Frank Lowe.

About two dozen cars fled the area, said CHP Sgt. Wayne Ziese. CHP officers were pursuing another car, when they came upon the Adeline Street accident at 2:50 a.m.

Oakland police think Salgado lost control of his car while speeding down a curved overpass on Adeline Street. He then slammed into a barricade at Third Street and flipped over at least once.

Salgado was declared dead at the scene and the passenger was taken to Highland Hospital with minor injuries.

Lowe said the Middle Harbor area is prone to night street racing because of its long stretch of deserted road."

RIP, bro.

I wouldn't go to Oakland for a couple weeks if I were you all.......... I'm def going to stay out of 7th.

Mediocre cars and too much police activity.

It's sad b/c I talked to one of the guy's friends... I think the police were out of hand; they were chasing the racers and if they had simply just told them to leave the man wouldn't have died. I think the cops should be sued by the family.

If anyone knows of any PRs or anything I'd love to come. PM me.

thanks guys,
Sean
