magnaflow, you change the backpressure by varing the pipe diameter not blockages in the exhaust flow.

They're just mufflers. How do you define a "better" muffler?

I guess you would measure better by the amount of horsepower it produces. But if you are looking for max power gains, run an open exaust. This is a bad question. Best for what?

Regardless, my opinion on flows where that they were average. Average sound, average power. Nothing wrong with them, but there are better exaust systems out there.

magnaflow is a "better" muffler. they make more power in most applications and are quieter

Well considering the two are mostly put on, mustangs, comaros, etc. why would you want them to be quite. What needs to be quieter is the ricer fart cans that are welded to all the POS driving around.

A) It's spelled Camaro.

B) Quiet is better because you won't be harrassed as much by one of two groups. Ricers who think they can beat you, or the police.

And PhrozenLikwid: Open exhaust doesn't always had more power. Foxbodies with open exhaust usually see a decrease in power because they run true dual exhaust. LS1s on the other hand see an increase in power because the y-pipe is such a bottleneck for them.

Heh well for me to try and put polished muffler on my car would be pointless... 1 you never see the muffler unless you stick your head under the rear of my car, and 2 it's a muffler. I have a 2 chamber flow on my Camaro with 3in pipe... I do need to get true dual though... I know the power would increase a lil... And hey Kauo, does that restriction from the Y pipe effect the car that much?
